Jeffrey E. Prag is a solo practitioner in Stockton, California. His law practice consists of about 1/3 federal and state tax litigation and advice, 1/3 estate planning, including trust and estate administration, and 1/3 small business and corporate formation, transactions and advice.

Jeff was born and raised in Chicago. He received a B.A. in 1967 from Carleton College, a J.D. in 1973 from Stanford University, and a L.L.M (in Taxation) in 1988 from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific. Jeff was admitted to the California State Bar in 1974 and to the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. District Court (E.D., CA) in 1988. He spent 14 years in Sacramento, California working for several different governmental agencies and has spent the past 34 years in private practice in Stockton. He maintains current and customary professional liability insurance. Jeff has been certified as a specialist in taxation law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization since 1995. 

Jeff is also active in legal, business, and community-based activities. He has served as past president of the Stockton Estate Planning Council,  the San Joaquin Chapter of the American Red Cross, and Stockton Pacific Rotary Club. He is currently president of the San Joaquin County Law Library Board of Trustees. He has written a monthly column on tax issues for the San Joaquin County Bar Association publication Across the Bar, has authored a number of articles in the past for local business publications, and has spoken frequently on tax and estate planning matters. Jeff was a volunteer small claims judge for seven years with the Sacramento County Municipal Court.
